Recovery Residences

In our Serenity Houses, our support staff and house managers help our over 100 residents learn how to live in our community, work, advocate through legal problems, get their lives back in order.  Clients often stay with us up to 18-months.  Many clients do not have insurance and if they did, it does not cover housing.  So even our low fee of $180.00 per week is not possible without an entry subsidy boost from our scholarship funds for the first month.  According to a recent study by the Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs (WRI), Rutgers University–Camden, over 70% of the people who come through the Hansen Foundation’s Serenity House are and remain clean one year after leaving our care. That is why we need more quality affordable housing.
