The Hansen Foundation embraces RECOVERY…for those who suffer from substance use disorders, their families and friends.  More than sober living, our Serenity Houses and Serenity Estates in Atlantic County, help those in need access treatment, promote healthy and sustainable life choices and reunite families.

Our recovery residences have had overwhelming success in providing recovering men and women with the tools necessary to gain back their lives and in many instances, their children.

A 2014 study in the Journal of the American Medical Association identified that 40%-60% of people who are treated for substance abuse relapse.  These statistics are shown to significantly decrease when an addict goes into recovery housing after treatment.  According to the 2017 study by the Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs (WRI), Rutgers University–Camden, over 70% of the people who come through the Hansen Foundation’s Serenity House are and remain clean after one year.
